The artist, who produces her works by adding her contemporary interpretations to the traditional weaving technique used in her works, aims to carry the local understanding to a universal state. With narrations such as material, method, concept, etc., she reveals original works in different forms that have something to say.
“In my work in recent years, the fabrics I have produced by weaving natural fibers and fibers that I have collected from nature have led me to investigate touch and texture differences. Currently, within the scope of these studies, I use the fibers, sawdust and roots of hemp, which is the oldest textile material found in archaeological excavations that are colored by completely traditional methods. With the principle of sustainability and zero waste, we have also prepared an exhibition with the cooperation and contributions of the valuable Ketene Family, who is transforming the hemp fabric obtained from domestic seed into sustainable final designs by using traditional natural dyeing, woodblock printing technique and ecological printing methods.
In this exhibition, we aim to approach hemp as an artistic material as well as all its features and to bring out original works in different forms with expressions such as material, method and concept by highlighting the texture element.
Welcome to our exhibition prepared in cooperation with the Ketene Family.
Regards”
